Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is seeking a Night Shift RN for a Critical Care Float Pool in New York, with travel experience and Epic proficiency. This role requires NY RN licensure, BLS/ACLS, and ICU competency, with coverage across neuro/trauma ICUs and ED/PACU as needed.

The position runs 7:00 PM–7:30 AM, with every other weekend and rotating holidays, and offers high pay, comprehensive benefits, housing assistance, and travel reimbursement for eligible candidates.

Qualifications

• Active NY RN license required at time of consideration.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• Minimum 2 years ICU experience; travel nursing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Critical Care Float Pool covering multiple ICU environments (neuro/trauma SICU, MICU, CCU, PCCU).
• Also covers ICU/PCCU patients in ED and PACU awaiting bed placement.
• Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM.
• Every other weekend required; rotating holiday coverage.
• Floating to a variety of ICUs; Epic EMR experience required.
• Provide critical care nursing support across multiple ICU units and overflow ED/PACU.
• Navy blue scrubs required; dress code enforced.
• RTO requests must be submitted at time of consideration.
• Limitations on eligibility based on county residence within 50 miles.

American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift RN for a Critical Care Float Pool position requiring previous travel experience and Epic proficiency.

Requirements

• Active NY RN license required at time of consideration
• BLS and ACLS certifications from AHA or RQI required
• Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience required
• Level I trauma center experience strongly preferred
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Experience floating across a variety of ICU settings highly desired
• Must pass a competency test within 24 hours of consideration, with 2 attempts allowed
• No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
• Minimum of 1 supervisor or manager reference (charge nurse references not accepted) dated within the past year
• US Social Security Number required; Canadian SIN not accepted
• Medical exemption only accepted for flu vaccine declination (personal or religious exemptions not accepted)

• Candidates residing within a 50-mile radius of the facility are not eligible if located in Albany, Columbia, Dutchess, Fulton, Greene, Montgomery, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schenectady, Ulster, Warren, or Washington counties
• RTO requests must be submitted at time of consideration
• More than 3 call-outs within a 13-week contract period may result in contract termination, with make-up shifts required within 6 weeks
• No blocked scheduling permitted
