Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is seeking an RN for Home Health in Maine with a day shift (8:00 AM–4:30 PM) and a 13-week contract. Requires a Maine or compact RN license and a minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, including PICC/Portacath/wound care and chronic disease teaching.

The role supports up to 27 patients, with no on-call duties and a 25-mile float radius. Local candidates within 90 miles of MaineHealth facilities are considered local. Epic EMR is used; laptop and phone provided.

Qualifications

• Active RN license (Maine or compact) required upon submission.
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required.
• Experience with PICC line management, Portacath management, wound vac therapy, Pleurx catheter management, ostomy teaching/management, G and JG tube teaching/management, and chronic disease teaching/management required.
• Preferred: 2 years of med/surg experience.
• Driver's license required for consideration.
• 2 professional references required.

Responsibilities

• Home health setting providing care to patients across all levels of home health needs.
• Caseload of up to 27 patients.
• Day shift schedule, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
• Weekend rotation of 1 weekend (16 hours) every 4th weekend.
• No on-call requirements.
• Float policy within a 25-mile radius between facilities as needed.
• Laptop and cell phone issued for patient care use.
• Uses Epic EMR.
• Provide skilled home health nursing care including wound care, catheter management, and chronic disease education to patients in their homes.
• Scrubs or presentable civilian clothing accepted.
• Air pods, laptops, and cell phone usage on the unit is prohibited outside of issued work devices.
• Local candidates within 90 miles of any MaineHealth facility are considered local and not eligible for renewals or extensions.
• RTO should be kept to a minimum, with 3-4 days considered reasonable for a 13-week contract.
• Candidates who worked at any MaineHealth facility within the past 12 months must disclose this during consideration.
• First-time travelers may be considered for this position.
