Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an Endoscopy RN with GI/Endoscopy experience for a day shift position in Massachusetts. Active MA RN license and ACLS/BLS are required. SGNA/CBSPD preferred. Minimum 2–3 years GI/Endoscopy in one location and at least 2 years of traveler experience are expected.

The role involves a busy endoscopy unit with 7 procedure rooms, MAC and conscious sedation, and on-call requirements. Excellent benefits and housing support offered to travelers.

Qualifications

• Active MA RN license is required (no conditional licenses).
• Current AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• GI/Endoscopy experience in one location, 2–3 years preferred.
• Minimum 2 years travel nursing experience required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a high-volume endoscopy unit with MAC and conscious sedation.
• Operate and reprocess GI equipment, including Olympus scopes.
• Document in EPIC EMR and maintain accurate patient records.
• Manage patient flow with 1:1 in procedure rooms and 1:2-3 in PACU.
• Support a rotation-based day shift schedule and on-call coverage.

Job description

American Traveler is hiring an Endoscopy RN with GI/Endoscopy experience for a day shift position requiring an active MA RN license and ACLS certification.

Requirements

• Active Massachusetts RN license required (no conditional licenses accepted)
• AHA BLS and AHA ACLS certification required
• SGNA or CBSPD certification strongly preferred
• Minimum 2-3 years of GI/Endoscopy experience in one location required
• Minimum 2 years of experience working as a Traveler required
• GI Technician Endoscopy skills required, including Olympus scope set-up, handling, and reprocessing
• EPIC charting experience required

Responsibilities

• GI/Endoscopy unit with 7 procedure rooms supporting MAC and conscious sedation cases, plus holding and recovery rooms
• 18 PACU bays and 8 procedural rooms with 60-70 procedures performed daily
• Diverse patient population
• Clinician to patient ratio of 1:1 in procedure rooms and 1:2-3 in PACU
• Uses EPIC EMR
• Day shift schedule, primarily 7:15am-3:45pm with one rotating day of 8:00am-4:30pm, or 7:00am-5:30pm
• Department operates 6:30am-5:30pm on weekdays with rotating shifts required
• On call required for evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
• No floating required
• Provide direct patient care in a high-volume endoscopy unit supporting GI procedures
• Flu vaccination required during flu season with no religious or medical exemptions allowed
• Local candidates accepted; candidates residing within 60 miles of the Boston location are subject to a reduced rate
