Job summary

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a fast-paced Med/Surg admissions unit in Fargo, ND, requiring 2+ years of Med/Surg experience and Level 1 trauma background. The unit uses Epic EMR and supports a 12-hour rotating shift schedule.

Active ND or Compact RN license with BLS is required. BSN is not required. Remote travel pay is available for specific distances from the facility, with housing and licensure reimbursements offered.

Qualifications

• Active RN license (ND or Compact) required.
• BLS certification (AHA) required.
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg nursing experience required.
• Level 1 trauma center experience required; high Level 2 experience will be considered.
• Epic EMR experience required.
• BSN not required for this position.
• Ability to work in a busy, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Acute care Med/Surg admissions unit within a Level 1 trauma center.
• 15-bed unit with all private rooms, caring for patients discharged from the ER awaiting unit assignment.
• Perform initial admissions and provide care until patients transfer to their designated unit.
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 5:1 during days and 6:1 during nights.
• Uses Epic EMR, Zebra phones, Omnicell medication system, and Aleris IV pumps.
• 12-hour day/night rotating shifts (0700-1930 or 1900-0730).
• Every other weekend and every other holiday required.
• No on-call requirements.
• Floating to other Med/Surg units as needed
• New Med/Surg unit with a fast-paced work environment
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Candidates residing within 60 miles of the facility are not eligible for this position
• Candidates residing 60 to 80 miles from the facility are eligible for the local travel pay rate
• Previous employment at any Sanford Health location must be disclosed for review
