Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Emergency Dept RN for a night shift travel assignment in New Mexico. Applicants must hold an NM or Compact RN license and current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications from AHA.

The role involves night shifts 7:00 PM–7:00 AM, every other weekend, on-call duties, and floating to other units. Epic EMR is used. Housing allowances and travel reimbursements are provided.

Qualifications

• Active NM RN license or Compact license is required.
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC from AHA.
• Graduate of an accredited Registered Nursing program is required.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Emergency Care unit of a hospital setting.
• Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM.
• Every other weekend required.
• On-call responsibilities required.
• Floating to other units/locations required.
• Uses EPIC EMR system.
• Coordinate and implement patient care across a range of ages and acuities in the Emergency Dept.
• Perform initial and ongoing patient assessments, establish care priorities, and develop individualized care plans.
• Perform various point-of-care testing procedures.
• Participate in patient and family health education and discharge planning.
• Document timely interventions and evaluate plan of care effectiveness.

Education

Active NM RN license or Compact license

BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC (AHA)

Graduate of an accredited Registered Nursing program

CPI/De-escalation certification (highly preferred)

• Minimum 1 year of experience required
• Graduate of an accredited Registered Nursing program

Responsibilities

• Work in the Emergency Care unit of a hospital setting
• Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend required
• On-call responsibilities required
• Floating to other units/locations required
• Uses EPIC EMR system
• Dress code requires pewter/charcoal grey scrubs
• Coordinate and implement patient care across a range of ages and acuities in the Emergency Dept
• Perform initial and ongoing patient assessments, establish care priorities, and develop individualized care plans
• Perform various point-of-care testing procedures
• Participate in patient and family health education and discharge planning
• Document timely interventions and evaluate plan of care effectiveness
• Must reside within 50 miles of the facility for local rate consideration
• Previous CHRISTUS Health employees (non-travel) must have a 6-month separation period before being eligible for this travel assignment
