Job summary

Novant Health is seeking an experienced ED nurse for our Clements Ferry Free Standing ED in Charleston, SC, for a temporary, contract, full-time night assignment (7 p.m.–7 a.m.). Primary at the freestanding ED with opportunities to support additional ED staffing as needs arise.

You will work in a collaborative emergency care team, assess patients, prioritize needs, and deliver timely, compassionate care during urgent and emergent situations, with contracts ranging 13–26 weeks and

Qualifications

• Current unrestricted RN license in South Carolina.
• 2+ years of Emergency Department RN experience.
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS required; NRP required.
• TNCC preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients in emergencies and prioritize needs to deliver timely care.
• Recognize changes in patient condition and respond with clinical judgment.
• Coordinate treatment with a multidisciplinary team for urgent and emergent situations.
• Provide consistent, adaptable support to freestanding ED staffing needs.
• Deliver safe, compassionate care to patients and families during critical moments.

Facility: Clements Ferry FSED | Location: Charleston, SC | Position Type: Full-Time, Temporary Contract | Work Schedule: Three 12-hour night shifts, 7 p.m.-7 a.m.

Additional scheduling expectations

Contract & Scheduling Details: Assignments range from 13-26 weeks. Nurses may be required to work every other weekend based on unit needs and are expected to work 50% of holidays occurring during their contract period.

• Recognize changes in patient conditions and respond with the clinical judgment and confidence that come from working in emergency care.
• Use your clinical expertise to partner with a multi-disciplinary team to coordinate treatment and support patients through urgent and emergent situations.
• Bring consistency and adaptability to your assignment, supporting East Cooper Medical Center and freestanding emergency departments as staffing needs change.
• Be a steady presence for patients and families, delivering safe, compassionate care when they need it most.

What We're Looking For

Required

• Current unrestricted RN license in the State of South Carolina
• 2+ years recent Emergency Room RN Experience
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS required
• NRP required

Preferred

• TNCC preferred

Additional

• Specialty certification and/or participation in professional nursing organizations encouraged
