Job summary

Origin Travel Nurses is seeking a Free Standing Emergency Room Registered Nurse in South Carolina for a 13-week contract, night shifts 7:00 PM–7:30 AM with every-other weekend. The RN will deliver high-quality emergency care to both adults and children, perform triage, administer meds and IV therapy, and document care in Epic.

The candidate should have 2+ years in emergency care, a SC or compact license, BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, TNCC; CPI/NRP are preferred.

Qualifications

• Active SC or multi-state nursing license.
• 2 years minimum in general emergency care.
• Current BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, TNCC certifications.
• Preferred CPI, NRP certifications.

Responsibilities

• Provide emergency care to adults and pediatrics in a free-standing ER setting.
• Perform triage and critical assessments.
• Administer medications, IV therapy and emergency interventions.
• Operate and interpret ECG and arterial blood gas analyses.
• Collaborate with the care team to develop care plans.
• Document care in Epic charting system.
• Manage complex cases such as stroke, trauma, and acute emergencies.

Job Description

The Free Standing Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing high-quality emergency care to diverse patient populations. The RN will manage critical emergency situations, collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, and ensure adherence to standards of care in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide emergency care to patients, including adults and pediatrics, in a free-standing ER setting.
• Perform critical assessments and triaging of incoming patients.
• Administer medications, IV therapy, and other emergency interventions as required.
• Operate and interpret diagnostic equipment, such as ECG and arterial blood gas analysis.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to develop and execute individualized care plans.
• Document patient care in the Epic charting system accurately and promptly.
• Manage complex cases such as CVA (Cerebrovascular Accidents), trauma, and acute medical emergencies.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of general emergency experience (adult/peds required).
• Current South Carolina or Multi-State/Compact RN license.
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS (from AHA), NIHSS, and TNCC.
• Preferred certifications: CPI, NRP.
