Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cath Lab/EP Lab position in Illinois. The ideal candidate holds an active IL RN license, BLS/ACLS/PALS, and has at least three years of relevant nursing experience. BSN is preferred.

The role involves direct 1:1 patient care, moderate sedation, and hemodynamic monitoring in EP lab procedures. Day shifts consist of four 9-hour shifts, with no weekends or holidays and no floating required.

Qualifications

• Active Illinois RN license in good standing (temporary license accepted).
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications (American Heart Association).
• Minimum of three years of relevant nursing experience.
• Experience with moderate sedation administration and medication management.
• Skilled in hemodynamic monitoring and identifying life-threatening arrhythmias.
• Strong documentation skills for procedural events.
• Effective communication and multidisciplinary collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Electrophysiology (EP) Lab of a hospital setting.
• Provides direct 1:1 care to adult patients undergoing diagnostic and interventional cardiology procedures.
• Participates in programmed electrical stimulation studies directed by physicians.
• Uses EPIC charting system.
• Day shift schedule of 4x9-hour shifts, 0700-1630 or 0730-1700 based on department needs.
• Rotating day off with late shifts assigned as needed to finish cases.
• No weekend or holiday shifts required.
• No floating requirements.
• Perform patient assessments and develop individualized plans of care based on unit standards.
• Administer moderate sedation and monitor hemodynamics throughout procedures.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including RNs and Radiology Technologists in a supportive, team-based environment.
• Participate in ongoing quality improvement and evidence-based practice initiatives.
• Maintain accurate documentation to support continuity of care.
• Provide emotional support and clear communication with patients and families.
• Adapt to emergent situations and support safe, high-quality patient care delivery.
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for consideration.
• RTO limited to no more than 7 days per 13-week contract.
• Workers may not remain on assignment for more than one year without a required 6-month break in service.
