TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN Case Manager specializing in Utilization Review for a placement in Escondido, California. The role requires 1–2 years of recent case management experience and offers a 13-week travel assignment with 10-hour day shifts.

The RN Case Manager will evaluate patients, develop care plans, educate families, coordinate with clinicians, and manage documentation and insurance communications to support patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• BLS certification required.
• 3 years of case management experience.
• Additional certifications may be required before beginning an assignment.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and assess new patients.
• Create and update comprehensive short and long-term patient care plans.
• Educate families and patients about resources and health care options.
• Collaborate with other RNs, doctors and social workers.
• Properly document and submit medical records.
• Communicate with insurance companies to collaborate or appeal decisions.
• Analyze results to improve financial status and identify trends.
