Job summary

TotalMed RN in Escondido, CA seeks a travel nurse RN Case Manager with Utilization Review expertise for a 13-week assignment. The position is 40 hours per week with 10-hour days, traveling as needed, and requires strong coordination of care and advocacy for patients.

You will work with a multidisciplinary team to evaluate, plan, and implement care, while documenting thoroughly and communicating with families and insurers. CPR/BLS and 1–2 years of case management experience are required.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of recent case management experience.
• BLS certification required.
• Additional certifications may be required before starting an assignment.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and assess new patients.
• Create and update comprehensive short and long-term patient care plans.
• Educate families and patients about resources and health care options.
• Collaborate with other RNs, doctors and social workers.
• Properly document and submit medical records.
• Communicate with Insurance companies to collaborate or appeal decisions.
• Analyze results to improve financial outcomes and reduce readmissions.
