Job summary

American Traveler is hiring a Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU RN for night shift, 3x12, in a 10-bed CVICU within a PICU setting. Requires 2+ years of cardiac CCU experience and PALS certification. Compensation reflects nightly coverage and travel benefits.

The role includes a 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio, post-operative care with inotropes and chest tubes, and ECMO center collaboration. Must hold CO license and be outside a 50-mile radius of the facility. Nights are 7 PM–7 AM.

Qualifications

• Active CO or compact RN license required.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required.
• Minimum 2 years of cardiac critical care experience required.
• Peritoneal dialysis and CRRT skills preferred.
• ECMO bedside experience preferred.
• Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility.
• No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Work in a 10-bed Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU within a larger PICU environment.
• Staffing model of 6 RNs partnering with the PICU team for coverage.
• 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio for critical care (estimated, not guaranteed).
• Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM.
• Post-operative care including inotropic and vasopressor infusions, IVF and chest tube management, and care of post-sternotomy/open chest patients.
• Perform moderate sedation procedures.
• Serve the congenital cardiac and complex neonatal patient population as part of the hospital's ECMO center.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including board-certified pediatric/congenital heart intensivists.
• Join a team averaging 10 years of nursing experience with a strong culture of safety and high engagement.
• Ideal candidates are flexible, organized, strong communicators who enjoy teaching and resourcing others.

Description

American Traveler is hiring a Pediatric Congenital CVICU RN for a night shift role requiring 2+ years of cardiac critical care experience and PALS certification.

Details

• Work in a 10-bed Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU within a larger PICU environment
• Staffing model of 6 RNs partnering with the PICU team for coverage
• 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio for critical care (estimated, not guaranteed)
• Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Uses Phillips monitors, Med fusion and Baxter pumps, and specialized equipment such as centrimag, prismax, and arctic sun
• Weekend requirement of 4 shifts per 4-week schedule
