Job summary

American Traveler Staffing Professionals is seeking an experienced Travel RN for a Telemetry/Stepdown assignment in San Luis Obispo, CA. You will work nights, 3x12s, in a Level III trauma center with cardiac telemetry.

Requirements include an active CA RN license, BLS, ACLS, NIHSS within 6 months, ADN required with BSN preferred, and 6 months of cardiac step-down or telemetry experience. ACLS and NIHSS certification required; local candidates welcome.

Qualifications

• Active CA RN license in good standing.
• Current BLS certification from an approved vendor.
• Current ACLS certification (AHA-ACLS or ARC-ALS).
• NIHSS certification required within 6 months of hire.
• Associate Degree in Nursing; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• 6 months of cardiac step-down or telemetry experience (last 2 years).
• Basic Dysrhythmia Course completion preferred.
• Critical Care Course completion preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care for step-down unit patients, including monitoring and responding to emergencies.
• Supervise and delegate tasks to ancillary staff per scope of practice.
• Verify alarm settings with Monitor Technician per policy.
• Demonstrate proficiency in ECG lead interpretation and monitoring.
• Manage life-threatening situations and support post-surgical or post-intervention patients.
