Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) with at least 1 year of PCU/telemetry experience and GA or compact RN licensure. This travel assignment provides night shifts, patient loads of 1:4-5, and a fast-paced hospital setting.

Applicants must hold GA or compact RN license, ACLS/BLS/NIHSS certifications, and demonstrate IV/line care, dysrhythmia management, and rapid response experience. Benefits available; local candidates welcome.

Qualifications

• Active GA or compact RN license required.
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications.
• Minimum 1 year of recent PCU/telemetry experience required.
• Experience with IV therapy/phlebotomy, central and peripheral line care, PICC line management, and blood product administration.
• Experience with cardiac and vasoactive drip management.
• Experience interpreting and managing dysrhythmias and using rapid response/code teams.
• Teaching hospital, community hospital, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred.
• Copies of required certifications needed for consideration.

Responsibilities

• PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown unit caring for cardiac telemetry and medical-surgical telemetry patients.
• Patient ratio of 1:4-5.
• Night shift, 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM-7:30 AM.
• Every other weekend required.
• No on-call responsibilities.
• Floating required within facility and scope of practice as needed.
• Epic charting system experience required.
• Provide telemetry and stepdown level care to a cardiac, neurological, and post-surgical patient population.
• Manage patients with CVA, traumatic brain injury, post cardiac catheterization, and renal failure.
• Perform wound care, isolation precautions, and insulin drip titration as needed.
• Holiday coverage required based on number of major holidays falling within the assignment.
• Maximum of 7 days RTO per contract, which must be finalized at time of submission.
• No RTO permitted during orientation week.
• Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate.
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply.
• Previous Piedmont employees must be away from all Piedmont facilities for one full year before returning as a traveler.
• Travelers previously cancelled or deemed not returnable must complete one assignment outside Piedmont before reapplying.
• No schedule changes or shift requests permitted once assignment begins.
