Job summary

American Traveler is hiring an experienced registered nurse for the 3 South Cardiac Progressive Care Unit (PCU) on the night shift in Ohio. The role requires post-operative open heart care experience and an active OH or compact RN license, with BLS and ACLS certification.

You will work in a 26-bed unit with a 4-5:1 patient ratio, use MediTech EMR, and may float within the scope of practice. Travel housing benefits and per diem options are provided.

Qualifications

• Active OH or Compact RN license required.
• Current BLS and ACLS certification (AHA) required.
• Post-operative open heart care experience required.
• Critical care experience highly preferred.
• Chest tube and drain management experience required.
• Pre- and post-procedure care for radial and femoral access patients required.
• Proficiency in cardiac monitoring including reading rhythm strips required.
• Advanced knowledge of cardiac and pulmonary abnormalities required.
• Experience assisting with chest tube removal and pacing wire removal required.
• Experience with NIV devices and high-flow oxygen delivery systems required.
• Skills checklist current within 1 year pertinent to PCU specialty required.

Responsibilities

• Work in the 3 South Cardiac Progressive Care Unit (PCU) of a hospital setting.
• Unit has 26 beds with a patient ratio of 4-5:1.
• Uses MediTech EMR.
• 12-hour night shifts with every other weekend required.
• No on-call requirements.
• Float to all units within scope of practice and skill set.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care using age-specific criteria.
• Assist in planning, directing, and teaching non-RN staff such as LPN/PCT and Unit Secretaries.
• Navy blue scrub dress code required.
• Candidates residing within a 45-mile radius of the facility are local travelers with reduced travel rate.
