Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiac ICU assignment in California. Active CA RN license required; recent fresh open heart and mixed ICU patient experience are essential. BLS and ACLS are required, NIHSS also required, PALS preferred. BSN not required.

Position features 12-hour night shifts, 1:1 to 1:2 patient ratios, travel-friendly benefits, and comprehensive medical, dental and vision coverage with Day 1 options. Housing allowance and licensure reimbursement provided.

Qualifications

• Active CA RN license required, active at time of submission with no pending licenses accepted.
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required; NIHSS also required; PALS preferred.
• Recent fresh open heart and mixed ICU patient experience required.
• BSN not required for this position.
• Must pass a proctored Dysrhythmia test onsite on day one (Pass/Fail).
• Copy of driver's license required for consideration.

Responsibilities

• Provide critical care nursing to cardiac ICU patients, including those with fresh open heart procedures and mixed ICU diagnoses.
• Work in a 30-bed Cardiac ICU within an acute care hospital with Level 2 trauma designation.
• Maintain 1:1 to 1:2 patient ratios, with approximately 90% at 1:2.
• 12-hour night shifts with an every-other-weekend requirement.
• Operate Cerner EMR and GE telemetry monitors; support hospitalist coverage 24/7.
• Ventilator management and on-site 24/7 Respiratory Therapy and Pharmacy support.
• Self-scheduling available; unit orientations provided; traveling staff may float to telemetry or medsurg.
