Job summary

American Traveler, LLC is seeking an experienced RN for an Acute Dialysis position in Morgantown, WV. Dialysis experience and a WV or compact RN license are required. BLS (AHA) certification and a minimum of 1 year of nursing experience are also needed.

The unit cares for End-Stage Renal Disease and Acute Kidney Injury patients and uses Epic EMR. The 36-hour week features 3x12 hour day shifts, with some 8–12 hour shifts and Saturday coverage; holiday rotations apply.

Qualifications

• Active WV or compact RN license required.
• BLS (AHA) certification required.
• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience required.
• Dialysis experience required.
• Bedside nursing experience preferred.
• Pediatric experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Post-acute dialysis unit with 10 chairs averaging about 20 patients per day.
• Staffed by 6-7 nurses along with 1 AKI MD and 1 ESRD MD.
• Patient population includes End-Stage Renal Disease and Acute Kidney Injury diagnoses.
• Performs hemodialysis treatments in the dialysis unit.
• Uses Epic EMR.
• Schedule is 36 hours per week, Monday through Saturday dayshift, with flexibility between 8 and 12 hour shifts.
• 3x12 hour day shifts scheduled from 7a-7:30p when applicable.
• Every Saturday coverage required.
• No on-call or standby requirement.
• Required to float first among staff.
• Orientation consists of 3 shifts.
• Holiday coverage required on a rotating basis for Thanksgiving Eve, Christmas Eve, New Year’s Eve, Memorial Day, 4th of July, and Labor Day.
• Unit closes on winter holidays themselves (holiday falls on the Eve coverage days).
• Royal blue and white scrubs required.
• Medical Assistants or CNAs are not utilized on this unit.
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify as a traveler.
• Returning travelers must have taken a 2-year break before reapplying to any WVU Medicine location.
• Travelers may not work within WVU for longer than a cumulative year without taking a 2-year break.
• All candidates interview directly with the unit manager.
