Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Care for stable dialysis patients and ICU patients needing bedside dialysis
• Connect and disconnect patients for peritoneal dialysis
• Use Fresenius machines with orientation provided
• Work day shifts: 3x12 or 4x10 hour shifts; participate in on-call rotation
• Share responsibility for patient safety and documentation

Job description

American Traveler is hiring a RN - Acute Dialysis nurse for a hospital setting requiring 1 year of dialysis experience and an active OH or compact RN license.

Requirements

• Active OH RN license or compact license in hand
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA or American Red Cross) required and active at time of consideration
• Minimum 1 year combined permanent experience in dialysis required
• One professional reference from a manager, ANM, supervisor, or director in the dialysis specialty required (co-worker references not accepted)
• COVID-19 vaccine required with medical/religious exemptions only
• Flu vaccine required with medical/religious exemptions only

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital Dialysis unit providing hemodialysis (IHD) services
• Treat stable patients in the dialysis unit as well as ICU patients requiring bedside hemodialysis
• Connect and disconnect patients undergoing peritoneal dialysis treatment
• CRRT therapy is managed separately by ICU nurses
• Primarily uses Fresenius machines with full orientation provided
• Day shift schedule, working 3x12 or 4x10 hour shifts
• On-call rotation required
• Every other weekend required
• Provide hemodialysis care both in the dialysis unit and at ICU bedsides
• ECG rhythm recognition test and safeMedicate assessment completed during orientation, with up to 2 attempts to pass
• PBDS assessment is waived
• Expected to work every other holiday
• All RTO must be discussed and finalized during the interview process
• Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate
• Permanent or per diem candidates cannot return to Cleveland Clinic hospitals for 1 year from their previous end date
• Nurses are exempt from the facility's nicotine-free policy requirement
