American Traveler, LLC. is seeking an Acute Dialysis RN for a day shift hospital assignment in North Carolina. The role requires 2 years of acute hemodialysis experience with Fresenius equipment and Baxter PD experience.

The position involves 3x12-hour daytime shifts, on-call Sundays, and every-other-weekend responsibilities. Epic documentation and hospital care across inpatient and ICU/PCU settings are required.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Acute Hemodialysis unit with 9 stations plus one isolation station.
• Day shift schedule of 3x12-hour shifts, 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM.
• Care for ESRD/CKD patients, AKI, and PD-related issues.
• Patient ratios of 1:1-2, including ICU/PCU and ventilated patients.
• On-call Sundays 6:00 AM–6:00 PM; every other weekend.
• Floating to other departments as needed when census is low.
• Use Fresenius machines (CliC, Bibag); Baxter PD equipment; Marcor Millennium HX RO machines.
• Documentation in EPIC Dimensions; Meds in Pyxis.
• Voalte for verbal report communications.

Job description

American Traveler is hiring an Acute Dialysis RN for a day shift hospital position requiring 2 years of acute hemodialysis experience with Fresenius equipment.

Requirements

• Active RN license (NC or Compact) required

• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Recent acute hemodialysis experience with Fresenius equipment required
• Peritoneal dialysis experience with Baxter equipment required
• Competency in airway management, post-dialysis treatment, and post-treatment access care

Responsibilities

• Acute Hemodialysis unit with 9 stations plus one isolation station
• Day shift schedule of 3x12-hour shifts, 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM
• Patient population includes end stage renal disease, chronic kidney disease progressing to hemodialysis, acute kidney injury, peritoneal dialysis failure/infection, and transplant rejection requiring hemodialysis
• Patient ratios of 1:1-2, including ICU/PCU and bedside treatments for patients on ventilators, titratable IV drips, or airborne isolation
• On-call required on Sundays from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM as part of a Sunday rotation
• Every other weekend required
• Floating required as needed, including possible support tasks in other departments when dialysis census is low
• Uses Fresenius hemodialysis machines with CliC and Bibag, Baxter peritoneal dialysis equipment, and Marcor Millenium HX portable reverse osmosis machines
• EPIC Dimensions used for documentation and Pyxis for medication management
• Voalte phone system used for verbal report communication
• Provide acute hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis care across inpatient and ICU/PCU settings
• Patients transported to the hemodialysis room via Patient Transport requested through Epic
• Unit orientation totals 24 hours, split between 12 hours in ICU/offsite and 12 hours in the dialysis room/peritoneal dialysis
• Scrubs provided
• Must be willing to be assigned to a Storm Team or Hurricane Team and report to work during catastrophic events, mass casualties, or disasters
• Consolidation to a centralized office may occur mid-contract with reassignment to units as needed
• Must work 2 of 3 major holidays
• Up to 7 days of RTO can be auto-approved if not falling on a holiday; no RTO allowed during the first week of assignment
• First-time travelers accepted
• Travel pairs allowed, provided they are on different units and have separate transportation
• Local candidates within 50 miles accepted at a lower rate
• Former Novant Health or New Hanover employees must wait 12 months before applying
