Job summary

Thayer County Health Services in Nebraska is seeking a Retail Staff Pharmacist for a travel assignment. The role includes dispensing medications, advising physicians, and ensuring regulatory compliance in a fast-paced setting.

You will collaborate with the pharmacy team and healthcare staff, mentoring trainees and providing monthly consulting to contracted facilities. Strong communication and Nebraska licensure are required.

Qualifications

Pharmacy degree from an ACPE accredited school and licensed through the NABP.
PharmD preferred.
Three years of retail pharmacist experience preferred.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Current Nebraska license to practice pharmacy is required.

Responsibilities

Provides specialized pharmaceutical services to optimize drug use and outcomes.
Oversees dispensing and supervision of non-pharmacist staff in the medication-use process.
Maintains relationships with medical and nursing staff and informs on drug options and regulatory compliance.
Conducts medication use reviews and educates patients on proper medication use.
Writes guidelines for drug use and contributes to budget-related information.
Mentors healthcare professionals in training and provides educational experiences.
Provides monthly consulting to contracted long-term care facilities.
