Health Advocates Network is seeking a Respiratory Therapy Technician in Soledad, CA to assess, treat, and monitor patients with cardiopulmonary conditions in a correctional healthcare setting.

The role offers day shifts, competitive weekly pay, and travel-related bonuses. You will operate ventilators, administer therapies, document care, and collaborate with physicians and nurses to optimize patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Current, valid CA license/certification in good standing, as required for the position.
• Minimum 1+ year within the last 3 years as Respiratory Therapist.
• CDCR or CERNER experience required.
• Copy of current PSV from the licensing board or verification agency, if required.
• Copy of required certifications and compliance documents (e.g., BLS, N95 fit test, TB test).

Responsibilities

• Assess, treat, and monitor patients with respiratory and cardiopulmonary conditions.
• Administer oxygen therapy, aerosol medications, and respiratory treatments.
• Operate and monitor ventilators and other respiratory support equipment.
• Perform diagnostic testing, including pulmonary function tests and ABG sampling.
• Educate patients and families on respiratory care and equipment use.
• Maintain accurate EMR documentation and ensure infection control compliance.

Shift Details:

• Any 2 days within Mon-Fri 7:30AM-4PM (30)
• 1 Day Orientation 8AM-4PM

Respiratory Therapist Duties & Responsibilities:

• Assess, treat, and monitor patients with respiratory and cardiopulmonary conditions.
• Administer oxygen therapy, aerosol medications, and respiratory treatments.
• Operate and monitor ventilators and other respiratory support equipment.
• Perform diagnostic testing, including pulmonary function tests and arterial blood gas sampling.
• Respond to respiratory emergencies and participate in rapid response or code teams.
• Educate patients and families on respiratory care, medications, and equipment use.
• Monitor patient response to therapy and report changes to the healthcare team.
• Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Ensure compliance with infection control, safety protocols, and regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes.

Minimum Qualifications

• Current, valid, and unrestricted CA license/certification in good standing, as required for the position.
• Minimum 1+ year within the last 3 years as Respiratory Therapist.
• CDCR or CERNER experience required.
• Additional certifications may be required
• Copy of current, completed Primary Source Verification (PSV) from the appropriate licensing board or verification agency, if required.
• Copy of all current required certifications and compliance documents (e.g., . BLS, N95 fit test, immunization records, TB test, or other client-specific requirements ) .
