Qualifications

Responsibilities

Job description

American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a community hospital Emergency Department night shift role requiring 1+ year of specialty experience.

Requirements

• License required if applicable
• Minimum 1 year of experience in specialty required
• Community hospital experience required
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
• Experience with ventilator management, airway management/suctioning, intubation/extubation assistance, and ABG interpretation required
• Experience with medication delivery systems such as MDIs, nebulizers, and aerosol setups required
• Experience with oxygen therapy including HFNC and CPAP/BiPAP required
• 1 supervisor reference required for consideration

Responsibilities

• Community hospital Emergency Department setting with respiratory therapy and neuro diagnostics responsibilities
• Night shift, 3x12 hour shifts from 19:00 to 7:30
• Every third weekend required
• No on-call required
• May float within hospital or to an affiliate hospital nearby
• Epic/Excellian charting system preferred
• Performs lab draws and nasopharyngeal swabbing in addition to core respiratory duties
• Assists with patient triage arrival during night shift
• May assist with high-risk deliveries and neonatal/pediatric respiratory procedures
• First-time travelers will be considered
• Returning staff must have a 3-month gap since last worked as perm staff or per diem
• RTO ideally limited to no more than 5 days
• Local candidates accepted only for radiology positions; all other positions require candidates live 100+ miles from the facility
• Facility does not provide references to travelers post-assignment or to former perm employees
