Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist with pediatric, NICU, and adult ER/critical care experience for a night shift hospital position in the Washington, DC area. The role requires ACLS/BLS, active licensure, and an ability to work nights.

You will cover 3x12‑hour nights (36 hours weekly) on a 9‑week assignment, administering respiratory care per physician prescriptions, including ventilatory support and airway care, and you must reside within 50 miles of the facility.

Qualifications

• RRT license required (if applicable).
• Minimum 2 years of experience required.
• Pediatric, NICU, and adult ER & critical care experience required.
• ACLS and BLS certifications required (AHA only).
• Active license required, no pending licenses accepted.
• US SSN required for consideration.

Responsibilities

• Night shift schedule with 3x12‑hour shifts.
• 36 hours per week.
• 9‑week assignment length.
• Administer respiratory care per physician prescription including diagnostic evaluation, management, education, rehabilitation, and care for patients with cardiopulmonary deficiencies and abnormalities.
• Apply treatment protocols and technology across care sites, including medical gas and environmental control systems, mechanical ventilatory support, artificial airway care, bronchopulmonary hygiene, and hemodynamic cardiovascular support.
• Must live within 50 miles of the facility.
• No local candidates accepted.
