American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist with ICU/IMCU and general floor experience for a 13‑week day shift assignment at a cancer center in Buffalo, NY. The role involves delivering comprehensive respiratory care, including ventilator management, ABG analysis, and patient transport.

The successful candidate must have an RRT credential, current BLS/ACLS, and be a graduate of a CoARC‑accredited program with at least 2 years of related experience.

Responsabilités

• Provide comprehensive respiratory care across acute care, inpatient units, and outpatient clinics.
• Cover assignment locations across multiple clinical areas as needed.
• Deliver 40 hours/week on a day shift (3 shifts per week, 13.5–14.5 hour shifts with a 30‑minute unpaid lunch).
• Weekend work is required.
• No major holidays required.

Requirements

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential
• Current BLS and ACLS certification
• Graduate of a CoARC-accredited program
• Minimum of 2 years of Respiratory Therapy experience in ICU, IMCU, and general floor settings
• 5+ years of ICU experience preferred
• License required if applicable

Responsibilities

• Comprehensive respiratory care services covering acute care areas, inpatient units, and outpatient clinics
• Assignment locations may vary based on departmental needs and may require coverage across multiple clinical areas
• Day shift schedule of 3 shifts per week totaling 40 hours, with shift lengths of 13.5 and 14.5 hours including a 30-minute unpaid lunch
• Weekend work required
• No major holidays required
• Hospital-approved scrubs in any color or print
• Proficiency in ventilator management including initiation, monitoring, and weaning support
• Experience with BiPAP and CPAP therapy use and adjustment
• Management of high-flow nasal cannula (HFNC), moderate-flow oxygen therapy, and transport ventilators
• Tracheostomy care and airway management responsibilities
• Participation in patient transport with appropriate airway and oxygenation support
• Performance of arterial blood gas (ABG) collection and analysis
• Assisting with bronchoscopic procedures
• Conducting home oxygen evaluations
