Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist for a night shift hospital assignment in Metairie, Louisiana. This 12-week travel position requires 2+ years of experience and LA state licensure, with 4x12 hour nights and 48 hours per week.

You will work across adult critical care, ED and NICU settings, utilizing Epic EMR, ventilator management, ARDS/COVID care, and required weekend coverage. Travel stipends and comprehensive benefits provided.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of respiratory therapy experience required.
• LA state license required if applicable.
• BLS, CRT or RRT, NRP certifications required.
• Epic EMR experience required.
• Ventilator management including BiPAP, CPAP and high-frequency ventilation.
• Airway management, suctioning and tracheostomy care experience.
• Experience with ARDS, ECMO, COVID, CF and pneumonia care.
• Neonatal/pediatric equipment experience preferred.
• ABG draws and interpretation proficiency.
• Two recent supervisor references within 12 months.
• Valid driver's license copy required.

Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory care across adult critical care, ED and NICU settings.
• Deliver medications via aerosol, MDI and nebulizers.
• Assist with intubation, extubation and high-risk deliveries.
• Participate in patient transport and inter-departmental transfers.
• Collaborate with respiratory and critical care teams.
