Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist for a NICU/PEDS position in Rapid City, SD. The role requires RRT certification, NICU experience, and active BLS/ACLS/PALS.

The facility supports pediatric and neonatal critical care with 24/7 supervision and state-of-the-art equipment. A competitive compensation package is offered along with relocation and licensure assistance where applicable.

Qualifications

• AA Degree required.
• Minimum 2 years of experience required.
• NICU experience required.
• Critical care and general respiratory care experience required.
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required.
• NRP certification required for NICU assignments.
• South Dakota RCP License required prior to submission, if applicable.
• EPIC charting experience required.

Responsibilities

• Care for pediatric critical care, neonatal critical care, and general inpatient respiratory patients.
• Work in a 260-280 bed facility in Rapid City, SD.
• Rotating or straight night shifts on 12/6 hour variable schedules, 36 hours per week.
• Every other weekend rotation with holidays within contract dates.
• Possible on-call responsibilities including Home Health call rotations and affiliate facility coverage.
• Use EPIC charting system and Omnicell.
• Operate ventilators and respiratory devices (Draeger, Savina, etc.).
• Provide respiratory care across NICU, PICU, and general inpatient settings.

Responsibilities

• Respiratory Therapy department caring for pediatric critical care, neonatal critical care, and general inpatient respiratory patients
• 260-280 bed facility
• Rotating or straight night shifts on 12/6 hour variable schedules, 36 hours per week (72 hours per pay period)
• Every other weekend rotation with applicable holiday coverage required within contract dates
• May float for RT coverage throughout the hospital and ED, but not to other facilities unless specifically hired for that
• Possible on-call responsibilities depending on specific job requisition, including Home Health call rotations and coverage at affiliated facilities
• Uses EPIC charting system and Omnicell
• Works with ventilators including Draeger V500 and Savina 300, 3100A Oscillator, and Hamilton C1/MRI
• Uses ResMed APAP, CPAP, Bi-level, Airvo2 High flow devices, Cough Assist, Incourage vest, ABL90 Blood gas machines, IPV, and Praxair iNO
• Provide respiratory care across NICU, PICU, and general inpatient settings
• Supported by Charge RT/Respiratory Clinical Specialist available 24/7, along with supervisors, manager, and director
• Facility-specific orientation provided at start of assignment
• First-time travelers considered upon manager review with strong experience
• Pewter colored scrubs required
• Free parking available
• Time off requests of up to 7 days may be accommodated with contract extension; no time off approved during the first three weeks of August
• 100 mile radius rule applies; local candidates not accepted
