Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for a NICU night shift at a Level I Trauma Center. 2+ years trauma experience preferred; teaching hospital background a plus.

RRT, ACLS, and BLS are required, with NR P and PALS preferred. 3x12 shifts, no self-scheduling, and epic charting on a large academic medical center campus.

Qualifications

• RRT certification required; ACLS and BLS required.
• Minimum 2 years of trauma experience; Level I Trauma experience required.
• Teaching hospital experience preferred.
• NRP and PALS certifications preferred.
• Experience with Hamilton C6 ventilator and extracorporeal therapies preferred.
• License required if applicable.
• 1 professional reference required.
• Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted.
• COVID vaccine booster required with exemptions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory care to critically ill neonatal patients in the NICU.
• NICU unit within Level I Trauma Center academic medical center.
• Night shift: 3x12 hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM.
• Every other weekend required.
• Must float between two campuses connected by shuttle.
• Schedules assigned; no self-scheduling or accommodations.
• No on-call requirement.
• Epic charting system used.
• Travelers are encouraged to clock in early and report to shift huddle.
• First-time travelers will be considered for this role.
• Travelers must be gone from facility for 2 years before return in travel role.
• Local candidates not accepted within 75 miles of the facility.
• Travelers to participate in disaster or emergency response activities as needed.

• Trauma Level I experience required
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Preferred experience with NRP and PALS certifications

• Local candidates not accepted within 75 miles of the facility
• Travelers are expected to participate in natural disaster or emergency response activities as needed
