American Traveler is seeking a travel Registered Respiratory Therapist for a night shift position at a Level I/II trauma teaching hospital in Charlottesville, Virginia. The assignment is 52 weeks, 36 hours per week (3x12s), with nights (7:00 PM–7:00 AM) and every other weekend/holiday as required.

Requirements include RRT and BLS, Epic EMR experience, 4+ years of experience (2+ considered), and VA license or eligible for temporary license.

Description

American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a night shift position at a Level I/II trauma teaching hospital, requiring 4+ years of experience.

Details

• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
• 36 or 48 hours per week
• Every other weekend and every other holiday required, including 2 of 3 winter holidays
• 52-week assignment length
• Epic EMR experience required
• Teaching hospital and Level II trauma center experience required; Level I trauma experience preferred
• Adult critical care and Emergency Department settings
• Ventilator management including BiPAP, CPAP, SIMV, and weaning from mechanical ventilation
• Airway management including intubation assist, extubation, and tracheostomy care
• Care of patients with ARDS, aspiration, pneumonia, and fresh tracheostomy
• Floating required within scope of practice as needed

Additional Information

• First-time travelers will be considered
• Previous UVA employees must have a 1-year separation and leadership approval to return as permanent staff or internal travelers
• External travelers cannot exceed 365 total assignment days and are not eligible to return once this threshold is reached
• No radius or mileage restriction applies to this position
• Maximum 40 hours of RTO per 13-week contract period; all RTO must be disclosed at time of consideration
• Any vacation time planned between offer acceptance and start date must be disclosed to arrange an appropriate start date

American Traveler Job ID #P-774381. Pay package is based on 12 hour shifts and 36.0 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
