American Traveler is seeking a travel Respiratory Therapist for a day shift assignment in New Orleans, LA. The position supports adult critical care, ED and LTAC settings with a 3x12 hour days schedule (6:30 AM–7:00 PM), 36 hours per week and a 13‑week assignment.

Requirements include active CRT/RRT license (LA/Compact), minimum 2 years of specialty experience, ACLS/BLS, no call, and NURSYS report within 4 weeks. Epic EMR experience is preferred and travel eligibility applies.

• Administers aerosolized and nebulized medications.
• Cares for patients with ARDS, COVID, CF, ECMO and fresh tracheostomy.
• Performs chest physiotherapy, ABG draws and interpretation, pulmonary hygiene.
• Assists with patient transport including inter-departmental and ambulance transport.

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a day shift position requiring at least 2 years of specialty experience and active CRT/RRT licensure.

Details

• Respiratory Care unit supporting adult critical care, emergency department, and LTAC settings


• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hour shifts from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM


• Weekend coverage required every other weekend


• No call-in requirement

Additional Information

• Orientation held 5 days a week


• May be assigned to an Emergency Team requiring extended facility stay during emergency events


• First-time travelers will be considered as long as they have prior RT experience


• 2 Manager/Supervisor references required to obtain clearance to start contract; Charge RN references not accepted


• Former Ochsner Health permanent staff or in-house agency contractors must have a 1-year separation before returning as travelers


• Candidates must disclose all RTO during the interview process


• Facility does not accept local candidates and requires candidates to live more than 65 miles from the site
