American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Care Practitioner for a travel assignment in Hagerstown, Maryland. This role requires an actively licensed RRT with acute care experience and the ability to work a day shift 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, 40 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Active MD license or compact RN license required.
• Current certifications: RRT and BLS.
• Minimum 1 year of respiratory care experience preferred.
• Prior travel experience required.
• Experience with neonatal/pediatric respiratory equipment and procedures.
• Skilled in ventilator management, CPAP/Nasal CPAP/BiPAP, and apnea monitoring.
• Proficient in interpreting ABGs.
• Experience caring for infants/children with RSV preferred.
• Skilled in airway management including ETT/NT suctioning and tracheostomy care/management.
• Experience with oxygen therapy and trach collar use.

Responsibilities

• Provides basic equipment-related patient assessments and coordinates DME setup for respiratory patients.
• Day shift schedule: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM, 5x8 hours.
• 1:1 patient ratio.
• Epic charting system preferred.
• Floating required in rotation with facility staff according to clinical experience and floating policies.
• Some holiday and weekend coverage expected.

Additional Information

• Coordinates equipment-related patient assessments and DME setup
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates not accepted except with approval for Respiratory and Radiology positions at a lower bill rate
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for travel pay rate
• RTO must be submitted and approved prior to assignment start
• Travelers must separate for a minimum of 90 days after 1 year before returning to the facility
• Former permanent employees must be separated for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Completes orientation and annual training modules averaging 4-8 hours via the Relias/Net Learning portal
