Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories Engineering Services (SEL-ES) seeks a Relay Commissioning Technician I who will travel and be the face of SEL to customers, working with experts in commissioning to gain experience toward becoming an expert in relay technology.

Your day includes training customers on planning, design, testing, installation, and maintenance of electrical power systems at customer sites and SEL offices.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering Technology or related field.
• 2+ years in electrical power system planning, design, testing, installation, commissioning, operation or maintenance.
• Proficiency with modern test equipment such as OMICRON or Doble.
• Willingness to travel up to 75% of the time.
• Familiarity with Autocad, Microstation and AcSELerator Quickset.
• Ability to write automated test plans for testing protective devices.
• Familiarity with IEC-61850, DNP, Modbus.

Responsabilités

• Train and assist customers in planning, design, testing, installation, commissioning, operation, and maintenance of electrical power systems at customer sites and SEL offices.
• Apply SEL design practices for protection and automation systems and adhere to quality standards.
• Run tests, document malfunctions, and analyze undesirable trends.
• Provide regular communication and timely reports to engineering staff, leadership and customers.
• Maintain a safe workplace and promote safe and environmentally sound practices.
