Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories, Inc. is seeking a Relay Commissioning Technician to support planning, testing, installation, commissioning, and maintenance of electrical power systems at customer sites and SEL offices.

You will apply SEL design practices for protection and automation and provide regular reports to engineering staff and customers. The role requires 2+ years of relevant experience, proficiency with test equipment (OMICRON/Doble), and willingness to travel up to 75%.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent certification, training and experience in electrical engineering technology.
• 2+ years working experience in electrical power system planning, design, testing, installation, commissioning, operation and/or maintenance.
• Demonstrated proficiency with modern test equipment such as OMICRON or Doble.
• Willing to travel up to 75% of the time.
• Familiarity with Autocad, Microstation and AcSELerator Quickset.

Responsabilités

• Train and assist customers in planning, design, testing, installation, commissioning, operation and maintenance of electrical power systems at customer sites and SEL offices.
• Apply working knowledge of SEL design practices for protection and automation systems and quality standards.
• Run tests in support of department objectives, document malfunctions, and identify undesirable trends.
• Provide regular communication and timely reports to engineering staff, leadership and customers regarding commissioning activities.
• Maintain a safe workplace and implement safe and environmentally sound work practices.
