Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN Rehabilitation for a travel nursing assignment in Reston, VA. This RN will provide specialized rehab care, collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, and support patients through recovery and discharge planning.

The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of rehab experience, an active RN license in Virginia, and current BLS/ACLS certifications. The role requires 12-hour night shifts, 36 hours per week, and a travel employment type with 13-week duration.

Qualifications

Active RN license (VA) required
Minimum 1 year of rehabilitation experience
BLS and ACLS certifications required
Ability to stand/walk for long periods and perform patient care tasks

Responsibilities

Provide direct patient care to rehabilitation patients (neurological, orthopedic, stroke, spinal cord injuries, post-surgical rehab)
Develop and follow individualized care plans with the rehab team
Monitor vital signs and neurological status; adjust care plans as needed
Administer medications and manage pain control per orders
Educate patients/families on recovery goals and home-care needs
Document assessments, treatments, and progress in the EHR
Participate in discharge planning and coordination with case managers
