Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Rehab RN for a night shift at a CARF-accredited inpatient rehabilitation hospital in South Carolina. EPIC EMR experience and an SC or Compact RN license are required.

Unit spans two floors with 29 beds on the 2nd floor and 19 beds on the 3rd; patient mix includes spinal cord injury, stroke, and brain injury. 3 hours of therapy per day, 1:5-6 nurse-to-patient ratio, night shifts 19:00–7:30. Travel and housing perks offered.

Qualifications

• Active RN license (SC or Compact)
• Current BLS certification
• Minimum 1 year of rehab specialty experience
• Minimum 1 year of EPIC EMR experience
• Experience with IV therapy, central line care, and blood draws preferred
• Experience with cardiac, orthopedic, neurological, and respiratory patient care preferred
• Experience with wound care, tube feeding, and tracheostomy management preferred
• Experience in teaching hospital, community hospital, LTAC, or Trauma Level I/II settings preferred

Responsibilities

• Inpatient rehabilitation unit spanning two floors (29 beds on 2nd floor, 19 beds on 3rd floor)
• Patient population includes spinal cord injury, amputee, traumatic brain injury, and stroke diagnoses
• Patients must be able to complete 3 hours of therapy per day to qualify for the program
• Patient ratio of 1:5-6
• Uses Omnicell medication system and EPIC documentation system
• Uses ARJO lift equipment including Maxi Move, Sara Plus, and Steady
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (19:00-7:30)
• Weekend coverage required every other weekend, though this may vary based on need
• Floating to other units or campuses required based on census needs, limited to competencies already demonstrated
• Facility is part of a large health system connected to a 600-bed Level I trauma hospital with rapid response and code team access
• Facility is CARF accredited in traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, orthopedics, and stroke, one of the only such facilities in South Carolina
• Orientation held every Monday with annual compliance training required
• Pre-assignment testing and training modules must be completed within 48 hours of receiving login credentials
• First-time travelers will be considered based on experience
• Candidates must reside more than 100 miles from any Prisma Health facility to be eligible for travel assignments, with reduced rates for those 90-99.9 miles away
