Job summary

ND Global Consulting Services is seeking a Travel Registered Respiratory Therapist for a 13-week assignment in Hackensack, New Jersey. The position requires current NJ RRT licensure, BLS/ACLS/PALS, and ventilator experience.

You will provide respiratory care, assist with intubation, manage ventilators, and educate patients and families under supervision. You must be able to float to adult ICU areas, intermediate care, and Basic Intermediate Care floors, with a 36-hour work week and shifts

Qualifications

• 1+ year of recent experience working as a licensed RRT.
• 1+ year of ICU experience.
• Ventilator experience required.
• Must be willing to float to adult ICU areas, intermediate care, and Basic Intermediate Care floor.

Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory therapy under medical direction, including education, treatment, management, diagnostic evaluation, and care of patients with cardiopulmonary deficiencies.
• Assist with intubation and perform ventilator setup and management.
• Gather information necessary to evaluate patient needs, including disease-specific education, testing, and consultation with other healthcare professionals as appropriate.
• Develop rapport and mutual respect with patients/caregivers and team members to support goal achievement.
• Provide and document patient/caregiver education based on identified needs in an understandable manner.
• Perform other duties and/or projects as assigned.
• Adhere to HMH organizational competencies and standards of behavior.
• Ability to lift a minimum of 5 lbs., push/pull a minimum of 5 lbs., and stand a minimum of 1 hour per day.
• Regular contact with medical personnel and visitors.

The Registered Respiratory Therapist, under the supervision of the Director of Respiratory Services, Technical Supervisor, and Shift Supervisors, provides and administers all aspects of Respiratory Care Therapy and supportive equipment as stated in the Department Policy and Procedure Manual.
