Job summary

Windsor Health Group is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to provide comprehensive respiratory care under supervision in our hospital setting in Hackensack, NJ. The incumbent will manage ventilator care, assist with airway procedures, and educate patients and families as part of a collaborative care team.

This role requires 1+ year of RRT experience, ICU exposure, and current NJ license. The position involves floating to various ICU and intermediate care units as needed.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of recent experience working as a licensed RRT.
• 1+ year of ICU experience.
• Previous ventilator experience required.
• Willing to float to adult ICU areas, intermediate care, and Basic Intermediate Care floor.

Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory therapy under medical direction, including education, treatment, management, diagnostic evaluation, and care of patients with cardiopulmonary deficiencies.
• Assist with intubation and ventilator setup and management.
• Gather information to evaluate patient needs, including disease-specific education and consultation with other clinicians.
• Develop rapport with patients/caregivers and team to support goals.
• Provide and document patient education based on identified needs.
• Perform other duties as assigned and adhere to organizational standards.
• Lift at least 5 lbs., push/pull 5 lbs., and stand for at least 1 hour per day.
• Maintain regular contact with medical personnel and visitors.

Job Summary

The Registered Respiratory Therapist, under the supervision of the Director of Respiratory Services, Technical Supervisor, and Shift Supervisors, provides and administers all aspects of Respiratory Care Therapy and supportive equipment as stated in the Department Policy and Procedure Manual.

Essential Job Functions

• Provide respiratory therapy under medical direction, including education, treatment, management, diagnostic evaluation, and care of patients with cardiopulmonary deficiencies.
• Assist with intubation and perform ventilator setup and management.
• Gather information necessary to evaluate patient needs, including disease-specific education, testing, and consultation with other healthcare professionals as appropriate.
• Develop rapport and mutual respect with patients/caregivers and team members to support goal achievement.
• Provide and document patient/caregiver education based on identified needs in an understandable manner.
• Perform other duties and/or projects as assigned.
• Adhere to HMH organizational competencies and standards of behavior.
• Ability to lift a minimum of 5 lbs., push/pull a minimum of 5 lbs., and stand a minimum of 1 hour per day.
• Regular contact with medical personnel and visitors.

Required Education
