Job summary

Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center in Woodbridge, VA, is seeking a Travel Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a 14-week assignment at night shift. The position offers $80.00 per hour and is temporary full-time with no benefits.

Requirements include an active NBRC RRT, Virginia license, and BLS at hire. An ADN or BS degree in Respiratory Therapy is required; exceptions for pre-2006 credentials may apply.

Qualifications

• State license and active NBRC RRT required at time of hire.
• For new graduates, must have State license and BLS at time of hire, and NBRC RRT within 6 months of hire.
• 1 year of clinical respiratory care experience preferred.
• 2 years of NICU or PICU experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform respiratory care interventions as directed by physicians.
• Collaborate with nursing and care teams to provide patient-specific therapy.
• Conduct age-appropriate assessment and treatment for neonates to adults.

Overview

The Registered Respiratory Therapist builds upon the overall pulmonary management in identifying and implementing physician directed respiratory care interventions for an individual or a group of patients. Works cooperatively with nursing and other health care team members for professional respiratory care practice for all patients ranging in ages from neonates to adults in all clinical and ambulatory settings. Responsible for the appropriate age specific assessment and treatment of patients. May have access to, or oversight of Protected Health Information (PHI) in the course of carrying out position duties.

Associates or Bachelor's degree required. Non degreed applicants with RRT credentials prior to January 1, 2006 and graduates from a military RT program with RRT credentials will also be considered.

State license, active NBRC RRT and BLS required at time of hire. For new graduates only, must have State license and BLS at time of hire, and must obtain NBRC RRT within 6 months of hire date.

Certification/Licensure
