Job Title: RN 6S Telemetry Stepdown

Department: Telemetry - Main

Stepdown Float: floating to CVSU, Cardiopulmonary, Heart and Vascular Step Down, Comp Med Step down, and Cardiology Tele Step down

Duration: 8 week contracts

Shift: Nights (7p-7a) and every other weekend Required

Experience: 2+ years stepdown experience, experience with cardiac drips (amiodarone, Lasix, Cardizem, Dopamine, Dobutamine, milrinone, etc.) must know how to interpret heart rhythms Preferred: experience with VAD, care of post open heart, cath, vascular surgery, and cardiac patients

Unit Description

6S Telemetry Stepdown:

• The Cardiac Medical Stepdown/6 South unit is a 28-bed unit specializing in the recovery of patients following vascular and electrophysiology procedures.
• In addition, they specialize in providing care to patients with acute MI, cardiac arrhythmias, syncope, cardiomyopathy, and heart failure.
• They offer medical services to all patient populations requiring cardiac monitoring.
• Other services provided within this unit include titration of multiple intravenous medications and conscious sedation for cardioversions.
• All nurses are ACLS certified and have successfully completed an ECG interpretation course.
• This is an excellent unit for nurses interested in transitioning to an ICU setting.
