Healthforce is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for a SICU travel assignment in Boston, MA. You will join a hospital-based SICU unit caring for surgical patients, including transplant and hepatobiliary cases, with 12-hour rotating shifts and a 13-week contract. Travel nurses must reside more than 50 miles away. Start date 11/23/2026 with weekly pay.

Qualifications

• Active RN license required.
• 2–3 years SICU/trauma/Level I experience preferred.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required (ACLS strongly preferred).
• Epic EMR experience preferred or required.
• RN from accredited program; BSN preferred, ADN accepted.
• Ability to work in high-acuity SICU with rotating day/night shifts.
• Travel assignment eligible; no local residency within 50 miles.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to SICU patients including transplant and hepatobiliary cases.
• Monitor and manage critically ill patients with hemodynamics, vents, drains and lines.
• Administer medications, respond to emergencies, and follow ICU protocols and safety practices.
• Perform focused assessments, document findings, and communicate changes to the team.
• Collaborate with surgeons, intensivists and trauma teams to update care plans.
• Maintain charting in Epic and support discharge planning as appropriate.
• Participate in rounds, handoffs, and quality improvement while ensuring infection control.

Overview

Registered Nurse - SICU travel assignment in Boston, MA. Start date 11/23/2026 for 13 weeks. Weekly pay between $2,618 and $2,834. Guaranteed hours: 72 biweekly. Rotating 12-hour shifts (3x12), day/night rotation with every other weekend. Set in a hospital-based SICU unit with about 8 beds, caring for a range of surgical patients including transplant, hepatobiliary, and general surgery. Epic EMR experience is required. This assignment requires travel nurses who reside more than 50 miles from the facility.

Responsibilities

Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required


• 2–3 years of related SICU and trauma/level 1 trauma experience strongly preferred


• BLS and ACLS certifications required (ACLS strongly preferred)


• Epic EMR experience required


• Degree: RN from an accredited nursing program (BSN preferred; ADN accepted)


• Ability to work in a high-acuity SICU environment with rotating day/night shifts


• Eligible for travel assignment with acceptance of the distance requirement (no local residency within 50 miles)
