Job summary

Healthforce Healthcare LLC seeks a Registered Nurse to join a PACU travel assignment in Hilo, Hawaii. Start date 09/14/2026 for a 13-week contract with rotating 8/10/12-hour shifts and on-call up to 0–3 times per month.

You will provide post-anesthesia care in a hospital setting, monitor vitals, and coordinate care with anesthesia and surgical teams.

Qualifications

Active Hawaii RN license in good standing; Hawaii license required by start date.
BLS and ACLS from the American Heart Association; PALS recommended/required for some travelers.
2+ years of critical care RN experience (ER or ICU) in a hospital setting.

Responsibilities

Provide post-anesthesia care for patients in PACU, including Phase I and Phase II recovery.
Monitor vital signs, incision sites, temperature, and stability; respond to complications.
Manage medications and analgesia per protocol; document care in the patient record.
Coordinate with anesthesia and surgical teams; communicate handoffs on discharge/transfer.

Registered Nurse - PACU, travel assignment in Hilo, Hawaii. Start date 09/14/2026 for a 13-week contract. Weekly pay $1,979.00 to $2,138.00 per week. No guaranteed hours. Rotating shifts across 8-, 10-, and 12-hour options; days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays may be required. Work setting is a hospital environment with PACU and related postoperative care responsibilities.

Responsibilities

Provide post-anesthesia care for patients in PACU, including Phase I and Phase II recovery, with focus on airway, breathing, circulation, and recovery milestones
Monitor vital signs, incision sites, body temperature, and overall stability; identify and respond to potential complications; coordinate with anesthesia and surgical teams
Manage medications and analgesia per protocol; support patient comfort and safety during the immediate postoperative period
Utilize unit equipment and systems (Meditech, PCA pumps, Pyxis, Braun IV pumps, Cryocuff, SCDs, Bair Paws warmers, HP/Phillips monitors) and document care accurately in the patient record
Assess readiness for discharge to Phase II or transfer to an appropriate unit; communicate clear handoff information to receiving teams

Requirements

Active Hawaii RN license in good standing; Hawaii license required by start date
BLS and ACLS from the American Heart Association; Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) recommended and may be required for some travelers
2+ years of critical care RN experience (ER or ICU) in a hospital setting; may substitute for PACU experience in some cases
PACU/ASU experience preferred; ability to work in a rotating schedule and meet on-call expectations
Flu vaccination proof or facility-approved medical/religious exception required prior to contract start date
Education: current RN licensure; nursing qualification appropriate to practice
