Job summary

Healthforce is seeking a Registered Nurse - Operating Room for a travel assignment in Cumming, GA. The 13-week contract starts 10/12/2026 with a guaranteed 32 hours per week and a weekly pay range of $1,753 to $1,864. Shift is 8x4 days, typically 6:45 a.m.

to 3:15 p.m. in a hospital OR/outpatient surgery setting. Responsibilities include circulating in the OR, preparing the room, maintaining sterile technique, and assisting the surgical team.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent OR nursing experience.
• BLS required; ACLS preferred.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced perioperative environment and float to additional OR areas as needed.
• Flexible schedule to meet holiday coverage requirements and on-call expectations.
• Strong teamwork, communication, and documentation skills.
• Comfort working in an operating room/outpatient surgical setting and following strict sterile protocols.

Responsibilities

• Circulate in the operating room, preparing the room, maintaining sterile technique, and assisting the surgical team with draping and instrument handling.
• Monitor patient status intraoperatively, count sponges and instruments, and support anesthesia to ensure patient safety.
• Manage equipment, supplies, and documentation for perioperative processes; communicate effectively with surgeons, nurses, and support staff.
• Float to other OR areas as assigned to cover volume and ensure appropriate staffing; participate in rotating late coverage as needed.
• Assist with turnover between cases, maintain situational awareness for patient positioning, IV access, and patient comfort.
• Adhere to hospital perioperative policies, safety standards, and accurate record-keeping.
