Job summary

HealthForce is seeking a Registered Nurse for a Travel assignment in Lincoln, Maine. The Med Surg unit requires 3x12-hour day shifts (7:00 am–7:00 pm) with a 36-hour guaranteed week and a 13-week duration beginning 07/27/2026.

Responsibilities include age-appropriate nursing assessments, care planning, medication administration with the five rights, and coordination with physicians, case managers, and staff to support discharge planning. Maine licensure and BLS are required.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in Maine or in a state with compact multi-state recognition.
• BLS required; ACLS preferred.
• Immunizations as listed (Varicella, HepB, MMR, Tdap, PPD, Flu).
• Active RN with ability to practice in Med Surg setting.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial and ongoing age-appropriate nursing assessments for adult and geriatric patients.
• Develop, implement, and revise patient care plans; monitor outcomes and adjust as needed.
• Administer medications accurately using the five rights; document and monitor response.
• Collaborate with physicians, case managers and staff to coordinate care and support discharge planning.
• Document care activities per hospital policy; educate patients and families on plans and follow-up.
• Maintain a safe environment and ensure supplies and infection control compliance.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial and ongoing age-appropriate nursing assessments for diverse adult and geriatric patients on the Med Surg unit.
• Develop, implement, and revise patient care plans based on physician orders, patient needs, and progress; monitor outcomes and adjust as needed.
• Administer medications accurately using the five rights, document administration, monitor patient response, and report adverse reactions.
• Collaborate with the health care team (physicians, case managers, and other staff) to coordinate care, participate in rounds, and support discharge planning.
• Document patient care activities in accordance with hospital policies and procedures; provide patient and family education to support understanding of plans and follow-up.
• Maintain a safe, clean environment, ensure availability and safety of supplies and equipment, and follow infection control and safety protocols.

Requirements

• Licensure: Current RN license in Maine or in a state with compact multi-state license recognition.
• Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) required; ACLS preferred.
• Immunizations: Varicella (2 doses or titer) or compliant status; Hepatitis B (3 doses or titer) or declination (declination accepted only for HepB); MMR (2 doses or titer); Tdap; PPD (2-step or titer) within past 12 months; Flu vaccine during flu season.
• Education: BSN preferred; active RN with current licensure and ability to practice in the listed setting.
• Experience: Strong clinical assessment skills and ability to problem solve; effective verbal and written communication; basic knowledge of nursing care across age groups.
• Additional: Ability to stand/walk for extended periods, lift up to 30 lbs, and work in a setting with exposure to infectious diseases; on onboarding, provider will complete HR onboarding and necessary credentialing, W-9 and COI for workers’ compensation and liability.
