Job summary

Healthforce is seeking an RN for a weeks-long travel assignment in Roswell, NM, in an 11-bed LDRP unit. You will provide labor and delivery care, couplet care for mothers and newborns, and support during labor, Cesarean sections, and recovery.

The role requires an active NM license, BLS/NRP/STABLE, and 1 year of L&D experience. The assignment starts 09/14/2026 on a 4x12 night schedule with weekend coverage every other weekend.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in NM or NM/Compact license accepted; must be obtained prior to start.
• Certifications: BLS, NRP, STABLE.
• Minimum 1 year in Labor & Delivery; first-time travelers accepted; charge experience preferred.
• Environment: LDRP unit with couplet care; may float to related units with brief orientation.
• Epic charting experience or ability to learn quickly.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care for laboring patients in the LDRP unit, including support during labor and triage needs.
• Deliver couplet care for mothers and newborns; monitor fetal status and maternal vitals; assist with vaginal deliveries and support during Cesarean sections and recovery.
• Conduct newborn assessments, thermoregulation management, phototherapy as indicated, and breastfeeding/lactation support.
• Document in Epic and collaborate with interdisciplinary team to optimize patient safety and flow.
• Educate families on care plans, newborn care, and discharge readiness; respond to obstetric emergencies with escalation.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care for laboring patients in the LDRP unit, including support during labor and triage needs
• Deliver couplet care for mothers and newborns; monitor fetal status and maternal vitals; assist with vaginal deliveries and support during Cesarean sections and recovery

• Document in Epic and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team (Respiratory, Interpretation Services, Radiology, Social Services, Rapid Response, Pharmacy) to optimize patient safety and flow

• Maintain clinical proficiency in obstetric care, triage, and post-delivery recovery within the LDRP model

• Experience: Minimum 1 year in Labor & Delivery; first-time travelers accepted; charge experience preferred
• Environment: Ability to function effectively in an LDRP unit with couplet care; may float to related units within scope with brief orientation
• Charting: Epic charting experience or ability to learn quickly
