Job summary

Health Here in North Charleston, SC is seeking a dedicated Physical Therapist Assistant to deliver high-quality, person-centered care under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist to support elderly participants in a community-based program.

You will assist with therapeutic exercises, monitor progress, ensure safety, document outcomes, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to promote independence and quality of life for seniors.

Qualifications

• Associate degree from an accredited PTA program.
• Current or eligible state license.
• Experience with elderly or frail populations preferred.
• Familiarity with therapy equipment and EHR systems.

Responsibilities

• Implement and modify treatment plans within scope of practice.
• Assist participants with exercises, mobility, and therapeutic interventions.
• Educate participants and families on safety, injury prevention, and post-treatment care.
• Monitor and document patient progress, outcomes, and changes in condition.
• Maintain therapy equipment and ensure a safe environment.
• Supervise students or interns as needed and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
• Adhere to safety protocols, legal standards, and ethical practices.
