Job summary

South Carolina Sports Medicine is seeking a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant to join our North Charleston team. You will provide physical therapy treatments under the supervision of a Physical Therapist and supervise aides as needed.

You must be licensed or eligible for licensure in South Carolina. The role includes documenting treatment notes, maintaining confidentiality, and ensuring compliance with the SC State Physical Therapy Act.

Qualifications

• Licensed or eligible for licensure in SC as a PTA.
• Provides patient care under the direction of a PT.
• Maintains confidentiality of patient records.
• Maintains accurate treatment notes and charge tickets.

Responsibilities

• Provides physical therapy treatments according to the PT plan.
• Communicates with manager and health-care team about patient progress.
• Records daily treatment notes and discharge summaries.
• Supervises PT Aides in direct patient care.
• Complies with SC PT Act and clinic policies.
• Recognizes urgent situations and responds per protocols.
• Attends meetings and performs other duties as assigned.

We are currently looking for a licensed PTA to join our North Charleston team.

JOB TITLE: Physical Therapist Assistant

Reports to: Clinic Director

Important: You must be licensed or eligible for licensure in the state of SC to be eligible for this position.

Responsible for patient care under the direction of a Physical Therapist. Supervises aides in direct patient care and related activities as needed.

Essential Functions (include but not limited to)

1. Provides physical therapy treatments according to the physical therapists’ treatment plan.
2. Communicates with manager and other health care interdisciplinary team members regarding patient progress, problems or plans.
3. Records daily treatment notes, portions of monthly progress notes, and discharge summaries timely and completely.
4. Maintain patient records confidentiality.
5. Records treatment charges daily and completes charge tickets accurately and timely.
6. Supervises Physical Therapy Aides in direct patient care and related activities as requested.
7. Complies with the South Carolina State Physical Therapy Act.

Additional Responsibilities

1. Must be able to recognize and respond appropriately to urgent/emergent situations per protocols.
2. Maintain work area, exam rooms and supplies.
3. Maintain professional appearance and personal conduct at all times.
4. Follows all South Carolina Sports Medicine policies and procedures.
5. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with physicians, staff and management.
6. Keep regular clinic hours as approved by Rehab Director.
7. Attends meetings as requested.
8. Perform other duties as assigned.
