Job summary

Thompson Engineering is seeking qualified Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Technicians for multiple locations. This role oversees daily field testing and inspection activities on active construction sites to ensure compliance with project specs, standards, and quality.

Travel across multi-states may be required. Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma, six months of testing experience, and certifications in ACI Level I and Nuclear Gauge, with a valid driver’s license and strong

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Six months of construction materials testing experience preferred.
• Ability to obtain ACI Level I and Nuclear Gauge certifications.

Responsibilities

• Perform field testing of construction materials using a 40-pound nuclear density gauge.
• Obtain concrete samples from ready-mix trucks and prepare test cylinders.
• Conduct concrete testing and transport samples to the laboratory for analysis.
• Collect and deliver soil samples from job sites to the laboratory.
• Maintain detailed daily field diaries and submit reports to the Team Leader.
• Perform visual inspections of reinforcing steel (rebar) and ensure quality standards.
