Job summary

Thompson Engineering is seeking qualified Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Technicians to oversee field testing and inspection on active construction sites, ensuring compliance with project specs and quality standards.

Ideal candidates will have ten years of CMT experience, ACI Level I and Nuclear Gauge Certification, and a valid driver’s license. Travel to multiple job sites and coordination with the team leader are expected aspects of the role.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of ten (10) years of construction materials testing experience.
• ACI Level I Certification and Nuclear Gauge Certification required.
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Perform field testing of construction materials using a nuclear density gauge.
• Obtain concrete samples from ready-mix trucks and prepare concrete test cylinders.
• Conduct concrete testing and transport samples to the laboratory for analysis.
• Collect, document, and deliver soil samples from job sites to the laboratory.
• Observe construction activities and accurately record performance data.
• Maintain detailed daily field diaries and submit daily reports to Team Leader.
