Job summary

OMNIPLEX World Services Corporation is seeking Contract Investigators to perform background investigations for DHS and intelligence community clients. The role is on an as-needed basis with no guaranteed hours, with a minimum 10 hours per week when work is available.

Candidates must be local to Starksville, MS and willing to travel within 35–50 miles from the city location. Responsibilities include conducting in-person interviews, gathering facts, and producing detailed investigative reports.

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship required.
• H.S. Diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of 1 year of specialized Federal Background investigative experience within the last 5 years.
• Must have some FIS Experience.
• Reliable personal vehicle, valid driver's license, and satisfactory driving record.
• Willing to travel on temporary duty assignments (by car or plane).
• Must pass background checks and all required training.
• Ability to solve practical problems with limited standardization.
• Ability to interpret instructions in oral, written, diagram or schedule form.
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
• Ability to write reports and business correspondence.
• Proficiency with MS Windows and MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Internet and Email.
• Current SSBI or active Secret clearance based on an SSBI and able to obtain necessary clearance.

Responsibilities

• Conduct in-person, one-on-one subject interviews to obtain factual background information.
• Obtain information from various sources to produce a comprehensive background report.
• Travel within the geographic area to conduct investigations at workplaces, residences, and schools.
• Be willing to travel 30–50 miles as needed.
• Engage with managers and government/law enforcement personnel to maintain relationships.
• Adapt to changing situations and diverse people.
• Demonstrate strong verbal and written communications and professional demeanor.
• Workload based on availability of cases in the geographic area.
• May perform 2–4 week temporary duties in other areas of the country.
• Perform other duties as required.
