Job summary

Phillips Infrastructure in Memphis, TN seeks a capable supervisor to oversee a construction crew on site. You will supervise up to 10 workers, ensure safety, and coordinate activities with planners and contractors.

This role requires reading blueprints, inspecting progress and equipment, and maintaining records. OSHA 30-hour construction standards must have been completed within the last 3 years. A High School Diploma is preferred and minimal one year relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Examine and inspect work progress, equipment, and sites to verify safety and compliance with specs.
• Read blueprints and specifications to determine construction requirements.
• Estimate material or worker requirements to complete jobs.
• Supervise, coordinate, or schedule activities of construction workers.
• Coordinate with supervisors, managers and contractors to resolve problems.
• Order materials or supplies and maintain records.
• Record data on forms or reports and assign work accordingly.
• Enforce safety standards including OSHA 30-hour training within the last 3 years.

Responsibilities

• Examine and inspect work progress, equipment, and construction sites to verify safety and to ensure that specifications are met.
• Read specifications, such as blueprints, to determine construction requirements or to plan procedures.
• Estimate material or worker requirements to complete jobs.
• Supervise, coordinate, or schedule the activities of construction or extractive workers.
• Confer with supervisor, managerial or technical personnel, other departments, or contractors to resolve problems or to coordinate activities.
• Coordinate work activities with other construction project activities.
• Order or requisition materials or supplies.
• Locate, measure, and mark site locations or placement of structures or equipment, using measuring and marking equipment.
• Record information such as personnel, production, or operational data on specified forms or reports.
• Assign work to employees, based on material or worker requirements of specific jobs.
• Implement and enforce safety requirements for the job. Must have completed the OSHA 30 hour construction standards training course within the last 3 years.
• Required to drive motor vehicle in performance of duties.
• Ability to walk long distances in rough or variable terrain.
• Work in extreme hot or cold environments.
• Must be able to understand and follow safety considerations herein and as applies to the activity involved.
• May be required to lift up to 80 pounds and carry objects of 50 pounds or less routinely.
