Henderson Building Solutions in Las Vegas, NV is seeking a Commissioning Technician to join our team. You will execute building commissioning and retro-commissioning, perform field observations, testing, reporting, and support project planning for diverse facilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering field, or 4+ years of experience in lieu of a degree.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Ability to reliably and predictably carry out the functions of this job.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work with some degree of independence while accepting supervision and mentoring as needed.
• Ability to understand drawings and specifications and how they translate into a building.
• Understanding of mechanical and electrical systems for commercial facilities.
• Basic knowledge of automation and control systems, HVAC, plumbing, and life-safety systems.
• Understanding of ASHRAE, ACG, and LEED commissioning requirements.
• Knowledge of MS Office, AutoCAD, Revit, and Bluebeam.
• Ability to read blueprints.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Willingness and ability to travel approximately 40-50% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Creates owner project requirements, construction plans and specifications.
• Reviews drawings and maintains a record of comments.
• Generate checklists and tests for equipment.
• Make site visits to complete pre-functional test checklists.
• Generates site observation and issues reports.
• Reviews equipment submittals and maintains a record of comments.
• Performs TAB tasks and balancing adjustments to air and hydronic systems.
• Generates final reports and client communications.
• Develops and maintains client relationships.
• Sets up projects and folders.
• Evaluates budgets to allocate resources and time.
