Job summary

Civic Media is seeking a Broadcast Engineer (Full-Time) to maintain and support the technical infrastructure of its statewide radio network. The role covers studios and transmitter sites across Wisconsin, with heavy hands-on work on Nautel, GatesAir, BE transmitters, and automation systems.

A valid driver's license is required for travel to sites in Wisconsin, Minnesota, and the UP of Michigan. The company provides a vehicle and all tools needed to perform the job."

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in radio station engineering (studio and transmitter support).
• Proficiency with RF systems (transmitters, antennas, combiners) and IP-based broadcast systems.
• Knowledge of broadcast audio systems, automation platforms, and studio design.
• FCC rules and safety standards compliance knowledge is required.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair broadcast equipment across studios and transmission sites.
• Support studio and remote operations, including audio consoles and routing systems.
• Document installations, wiring, maintenance, and repairs with accurate records.
• Plan and execute technical projects with the engineering team to deadlines.
• Respond quickly to outages and diagnose issues to minimize downtime.
